Acclivity is seeking an experienced email marketer with the ability to write and create the content for emails as well as all tracking, mapping and planning of all campaigns.
We are looking for someone who can create compelling email content, has an eye for email design and layout, is familiar with different types of email campaigns (newsletters, announcements, nurture campaigns, gated content response, some ecommerce but not a heavy focus, sales enablement, channel support, appointment scheduling, etc), and the automation, tracking, reporting and campaign planning to accompany them. The ideal candidate should have experience in MailChimp & HubSpot, with a minimum of 2 years experience in B2B marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain email campaign calendars for multiple clients
- Write content for emails based on goals and focuses presented by clients
Basic design (Canva provided) of some imagery to accompany email content (advanced design can be assigned to the graphic design team)
- Basic html and CSS understanding for small edits (more complex development edits can be assigned to web developer team)
- Monitor and track external benchmarks and internal baselines, set targets and work to meet and exceed them (list growth, open rates, click throughs, sales, etc)
- Contribute strategies and tactics to help in list growth
- Maintain detailed audiences, manage segments for effective campaign targeting
- Ensure continued compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies (CASL, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, PECR, others as needed)
- Leverage platform features in MailChimp and HubSpot to ensure maximum relevant data capture and value-add to clients
- Suggest integrations and upgrades where appropriate and economically reasonable
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure continuity of content across all channels
- Repurpose relevant content from email for social media distribution where appropriate (Sendible)
- Provide reporting monthly on all active campaigns
- Keep up to date on platform functionality (HubSpot, MailChimp mainly)
- Keep up to date on industry specific trends and opportunities (subscribe to client competitor emails and monitor for baselines and inspiration – share insights with team)
- Keep up to date on email trends, best practices, news and pitch ideas or share relevant updates with team
This intermediate position requires familiarity and comfort with working in technical industries such as manufacturing, engineering, electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, IoT, and similar fields, along with a demonstrated ability to craft thought leadership style content.
In addition to the requirements mentioned above, we consider the following as nice-to-have qualifications:
- Experience as a technical writer, showcasing the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
- Experience as an editor, demonstrating a keen eye for detail, grammar, and formatting.
- Experience as a journalist or reporter in the business/technology space, displaying the ability to conduct thorough research and deliver compelling stories.
- A background in an engineering field or similar technical domains, providing a deep understanding of technical industries and their related terminology.
Education:
English, Journalism, Business, Psychology, Marketing or other relevant education or relevant work experience with demonstrable skills/work product.
Mandatory requirements:
- Minimum 2 years in a B2B environment or technical space
- Minimum 2 years of email experience
- Email work sample required (describe your contribution and what you were not responsible for)
- Other relevant writing sample required (technical or novel topic, business related – ideally B2B, thought leadership, or similar)

Hours:
- Negotiable from 24-40 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling but must be available for meetings, collaboration and synchronous communication Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday between 10 am – 3 pm Eastern Time
Salary:
$24-$30 hourly converted to salary based on weekly hours agreement
