Junior Digital Marketer

Part Time. 3-6 month contract. Open to Canadian residents.

About The Role

This is an entry level, internship position. It is not meant to be a career; it is meant to be a steppingstone for breaking into the digital marketing industry. We also hope to use it to discover hidden, untapped talent and hire them on full time where possible! Ideal for new grads or people switching careers or industries.

Responsibilities (Please define which tasks you are interested in learning / working on in your application)

  • Create compelling content for social media and other digital platforms to drive engagement, increase brand awareness, grow followers, build website traffic, generate leads, and achieve other identified metrics (Canva, Lumen5 & Sendible)
  • Community management
  • Account based marketing
  • SEO related research and or content writing
  • Google Analytics (and related platforms) management
  • Market research including competitor research, prospect research & feature research
  • Marketing copywriting (web copy, blog posts, articles, case studies, press releases, etc)
  • Social or Google ad design and management
  • Identifying new digital opportunities, optimize existing channels, and run experiments to increase our client’s impact
  • Videography, photography (would need to be located in Ottawa)
  • CMS maintenance updates including applying alt text, descriptions and more to pages and assets
  • Email marketing
  • WordPress maintenance
  • HTML/CSS design (for email, websites, landing pages, etc)
  • Marketing administration including creating reports and preparing client deliverables
  • Contribute creative and innovative ideas in strategic planning sessions for future campaigns
  • Increase reach by identifying new digital opportunities, optimizing existing channels, and running experiments
  • Work alongside our team to imagine and implement opportunities and strategies for upcoming campaigns, and maintain brand voice across all platforms

Requirements

  • Strong task organization and task management skills
  • Strong written communication skills (English)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Good critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Stays up to date on industry trends and platform advancements
  • Relevant education, relevant work experience or relevant related experience plus a demonstration of good position fit required
  • Familiarity with popular digital platforms including social media, search engines, blogs and website interactions

Nice to Haves

  • Willingness to work on days and times outside the normal workweek as needed (rare, generally only for special events, planned well in advance)

Primary: Sendible, Slack, Asana, Canva, Office 365, native social platforms

Secondary: BuzzSumo, SEMRush, Klipfolio, Lumen5

Hourly rate: $23/hour
