Video Content Creator

Ottawa based, part-time (optional contract or employee status).

Responsibilities 

  • Produce and edit videos for marketing, communications, and social media content in support of client’s business strategies. 
  • Create short and long-form videos for Instagram reels & stories, TikTok, and YouTube.  
  • Coordinate with team for script and storyboards. 
  • Plan and perform video post-production tasks, including reviewing footage, rough cuts, audio adjustments, colour correction, and compressing/encoding video projects for output. 
  • Video production, may include: storyboarding, planning, filming, editing, color grading, and proofing videos. 
  • Oversee remote filming by providing instructions with clear direction on brand. 
  • Optimize content for all screens and platforms. 
  • Plan and implement video shoot days, preparing scripts, props, materials, and equipment on the day of, and ahead of time. 
  • Set up and capture interviews, scripted and unscripted content, b-roll and events. 
  • Ability to package up creative elements included in content packages. (Imagery, video, GIF, etc.) 
  • Create visual, and video content designed for news feeds and social-first audiences that’s inclusive and accessible. 
  • Ability to translate brand and visual guidelines to come up with fresh and innovative social and digital video concepts. 
  • Collaborate with team to create copy to accompany social content (and/or create copy if you have excellent copywriting skills.)  
  • Identify new features and changes on social media relating to video, implement new opportunities. 

Requirements

  • Must have own equipment or know what equipment they would need (if employed) 
  • Experience with video content creation for social media and advertising purposes. 
  • Experience concepting, planning, shooting and editing original content across multiple social platforms and for a variety social media account. 
  • Experience with video editing apps. 
  • Understanding of video formats and best practices for producing digital video. 
  • Shoot, edit video content for marketing purposes in “cell phone” quality. 
  • Use lumen5 to create / edit additional content or use own software. 
  • Attention to detail essential. 
  • Asset: experience with food / hospitality. 
  • Asset: B2B content creation experience.

Secondary: Lumen5, Sendible, Canva, Native Social Platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc)
